The Angels

I was reading about the Lord Jesus, his telling of seeing Lucifer fall like lightening when I considered the office that the Archangels hold. For Lucifer was said to be the anointed cherub and archangel in office, Michael and Gabriel also held as princes of God the office of archangel. Consider Lucifer who because he was the “anointed cherub” he had access to the very presence of GoItalicd, he was always able to walk in Jehovah’s glory.

But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. Dan 10:13

Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. Jude 1:9

And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels… Rev 12:7

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. Isa 14:12-15

The Angels
Rev. Dr. Winston Watson

His name is Michael,
The warrior is he
Strong, powerful creation
Ruling Jehovah’s Army

In music and in song,
This great one belonged
Instruments of praise,
Worshipping all the day long

His was great Lucifer,
Clothed in light as the morn
Be he was found to be wanting
Viewing his Lord with scorn

His heart he lifted high,
Higher than the sky
Taking a third of the angels
He tried to be seated on high

Michael and all his army,
Fought against this foe
Once great in God’s heaven
No longer in his flow

The war was fought with power,
Such power to behold
For God would not share his glory
No, not with one so proud

He cast him out from his presence
Like light did he fall
To a new a lower dimension
O man, now stay on guard

This creature that would be God
Now wants to sift you through
But God has given you power
Over all he may do

No weapon can he fashion,
That can destroy your soul
So bear each other’s burdens
Look to your eternal goal

Gabriel, Michael, the angelic host,
All stand in awe of you
God’s creation now manifesting,
Giving God the glory due

They stand in his presence,
Hearing his command,
Giving him glory and all honor
So should we, the sons of man
